L-5-MTHF is not recommended at the same time as methotrexate given as cancer therapy, as it can interfere with the treatment. Folate does not interfere with methotrexate used for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Vitamin C and magnesium can loosen the bowels or cause wind and bloating in some people, which settles when the amount is reduced.
