Allergies are incredibly common and affect a large percentage of the population all year round. Levrix provides a double action formula for hayfever and allergy relief. Levrix contains only the active ingredient levocetirizine, which, on its own, is more effective at blocking histamine release. The antihistamine Cetirizine contains both active levocetririzine and also the inactive form, dextrocetirizine, of which may compete with levocetirizine for the histamine receptors and may reduce overall relief. Contributing to its effctivesness, Levrix contains 2 of the active levocetirizine enantiomers, and it has also been found that levoceterizine has twice the affinity for the human histamine 1 receptor as cetirizine.
