DESCRIPTION
If you have ever wondered what gives Earl Grey its lift, this is it. Bergamot is citrus with the sharpness taken off, floral around the edges, and one of the most useful oils to own.
Dolphin Clinic cold press theirs from the peel of Citrus bergamia in Italy, which is where the fruit has been grown for the perfume trade for centuries. It is a top note, so it announces itself first and then softens, and it sits happily with lavender, neroli and sandalwood.
One thing to know: bergamot is photosensitising. Keep it off skin that is about to see sun.
A small New Zealand company has been buying this oil from the same part of Calabria for over thirty years, and bottles it here.
