DESCRIPTION
Pōhutukawa flowers for a few weeks over summer on the coastal fringe, and the honey tastes like where it comes from - light, creamy and subtly floral, sweet with a faint saltiness off the sea air. It is a very different thing to manuka, and far less known, which is part of the pleasure. Judges at the 2025 UK Great Taste Awards gave it two stars and called it extraordinarily creamy with a hint of lemon and buttery caramel. Raw and unpasteurised, with no added sugar or additives. Lovely on fresh bread, through yoghurt, or over a summer fruit salad. 100% of Tahi's profits fund their Northland sanctuary.
