DESCRIPTION
The practitioner version of Atrantil, with spore forming probiotics built into the polyphenol blend.
Atrantil is the work of Dr Kenneth Brown, a Texas gastroenterologist, and it is built on three plants: quebracho colorado heartwood, horse chestnut seed and peppermint leaf. The polyphenols in that blend are large molecules that stay in the digestive tract rather than being absorbed into the bloodstream, which is the whole point of the formula.
Atrantil Pro keeps that blend and adds MegaTrio, three spore forming Bacillus strains: B. subtilis HU58, B. coagulans SC-208 and B. clausii SC-109. Spore formers are chosen because their protective coat survives stomach acid, and the brand pairs them with the polyphenols on the basis that the two work on each other.
It comes as 90 vegetable capsules, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, made without milk, egg, peanut, soy, gluten or shellfish. It does contain horse chestnut, which is a tree nut.
KBS Research is the company Dr Brown founded to make it, and the original Atrantil blend has been through published clinical trials.
