Turmeric powder from the spice rack contains only a few percent curcuminoids, and what little there is absorbs badly. That gap between the kitchen ingredient and a useful supplemental dose is what an extract like this exists to close.
Each capsule provides 500mg of Curcuma longa rhizome extract, made up of two parts. The bulk is 400mg of BCM-95, a 25:1 extract carrying 380mg of curcuminoids. The remainder is 100mg of whole organic turmeric extract contributing a further 5mg of curcuminoids, which keeps some of the wider spectrum of compounds found in the whole rhizome rather than isolating the curcuminoids alone.
BCM-95 is a well studied branded curcumin, formulated with turmeric essential oil rather than piperine.
