What does hypoallergenic mean in an Allergy Research Group formula?

It means the excipient list is kept as short as the formulation allows. Allergy Research Group builds for patients who react to fillers, binders and coatings, so you will often find only two or three other ingredients alongside the actives. Where a common allergen can be avoided, it is.

Why are these products practitioner only?

Allergy Research Group formulas are designed to be recommended and monitored within a one on one consultation rather than chosen off a shelf. Many use characterised, branded ingredients at strengths intended to be matched to the individual, which is a decision for a qualified practitioner to make with you.

Do I need a consultation before I order?

Yes. A mini consultation with our pharmacist is required before any practitioner product is supplied. It is brief, and it covers your history, current medicines and supplements, and anything relevant to suitability. We will be in touch after you order.

Why can I not see the ingredient panel and dosage on the page?

Full ingredient panels, serving sizes and directions sit behind your account login. Sign in and they appear on the product page.

These are practitioner only products, so that detail is kept for account holders rather than shown on the public page.

Where are Allergy Research Group supplements made?

They are manufactured in the United States. Individual raw materials are sourced globally and named on the label, including the glandular range, which is sourced from range grazed, government inspected animals in New Zealand, Australia and Argentina.

What is the connection between Allergy Research Group and Metabolic Maintenance?

They are part of the same family of practitioner brands, alongside NutriCology and MethylPro. Metabolic Maintenance formulas now appear under the Allergy Research Group umbrella, which is why you will see both names together on brand material.

How long does order processing take?

Once you have placed your order, our team aims to process it as quickly as possible.

Orders are processed as efficiently as possible but can take up to 2-5 working days in certain circumstances* (excluding weekends and public holidays).

Please note that during busy periods, such as promotional or sale events, processing times may be slightly longer due to increased order volumes.

If we are waiting for additional information or a response from you regarding your order, this time will not be included in the processing timeframe.

*In cases where stock transfer is required.

 

What is your shipping policy?

For New Zealand: We offer free tracked shipping on all non-rural orders over 75NZD*. *Rural delivery surcharge of 5NZD may apply. 
 
For Australia: We offer free tracked DHL EXPRESS shipping over 200AUD.
 
For remaining countries we are working to achieve better rates but for the moment shipping is DHL, EPS or FEDEX Services shipping for $120NZD.

Shipping to USA is not available at this time.

Click and Collect is also available to those local shoppers. Please allow some time to prepare your order. You will receive a pick up notification email once your order is ready for collection.

Customs, Duties & Fees
Please note that we are not liable for any customs delays, procedures, tariffs, or additional fees that may be imposed by the destination country’s authorities. Any charges, such as duties or import taxes, are the responsibility of the recipient and may be due at the time of delivery. We recommend contacting your local customs office if you have any questions regarding applicable duties and taxes.

Courier Delays & Delivery Times
While we endeavor to ship orders promptly using reliable courier services, delivery times can vary, and delays can occasionally occur beyond our control. We cannot be held responsible for unforeseen courier delays, including those caused by weather, logistical issues, or public holidays. If your order is taking longer than expected, we recommend tracking it using the details provided or contacting the courier directly for further assistance.

We will notify you if a delay is anticipated. Any order cancellations within the allotted shipping time frame (4 business days from order placement) will incur a 10% administration fee. If you wish to find out how far away an order is please email us on admin@matakanapharmacy.com with the order number in the subject line and customer services will reply within 1 business day.

Holiday Deliveries
Deliveries over the Christmas and New Year period is usually subject to delays due to our logistical partners being closed on weekends and public holidays which in turn creates a backlog. They also often have delivery drivers on leave and function at 50-70% driver capacity. Please anticipate delays of up to 5 additional working days during this busy holiday season

Warehouse Hours: Warehouse will be closed from 25/12/25 (Christmas Day) until 4/1/26 please expect delayed delivery and dispatch during the holiday season.

 

Prefer hands-on shopping vs online?

If you wish to pop into our physical store we operate out of the gorgeous Matakana Village nestled 20 minutes north of Auckland. Find our address and hours on our contact us page. 
Life Hack: Come up on a Saturday and experience the New Zealand Famous Matakana Farmer’s Market in full swing for artesian, boutique organic offerings and merriment (often accompanied by waterside seating and live music!). Mention our website referred you up and well give 5% off storewide on top of any other offers we have that day.

 

7 Day Rule

You may return any unopened item that is still in its original packaging to Matakana Pharmacy online store within SEVEN days of receiving of your order (as recorded by the courier) for an exchange for another product or, under special circumstances, a refund (see below).

Please note that a restocking fee of 10% of the order price will be deducted from any refund issued under this policy, except where the return is made under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), in which case no restocking fee will apply. Exclusions apply to medications, functional tests and supplements, as we cannot guarantee how these items have been stored once they have left our care. We can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from Matakana Pharmacy. If the returned item/s are not damaged or in an unacceptable state as a reason for return then this will not be accepted for exchange/credit even if this is of no fault of your own (courier mistake/damage).

Please be aware that return courier charges are the responsibility of the consumer, except where the return is required under the CGA. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper; however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

 

Consumers Guarantee/Refund

We will meet all our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Items that are returned more than SEVEN days after delivery and/or are unable to be resold as new cannot be exchanged or refunded. We cannot accept items for exchange that are returned after SEVEN days. Please note that we are not obligated to refund items unless they are defective or damaged. 
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

 

Refund of Shipping Costs

Please note we will only refund shipping costs if the return is a result of our error and not by third party (for example damaged by a courier/shipping). A full refund will be given in this instance. If you are returning because item is no longer required, or ordered in error you may be asked to pay the re-shipping fee for exchanges alongside any other additional costs.

Clearance/sale Items

Please note that we are unable to accept back clearance stock or items purchased on sale for exchange or refund because you have ordered the wrong item, or changed your mind, so please choose carefully. We will however refund/replace your clearance item if it is faulty or damaged in transit from leaving our premises.
