Frequently Asked Questions About cGPMAX

What is cGP?

cGP is cyclic glycine-proline, a small naturally occurring molecule the body produces itself. It has a role in the normal maintenance of blood vessels, including the very small ones that supply the brain.

Blackcurrants are one of the richest natural food sources of it, which is what cGPMAX is built on.

Why does cGPMAX ask for ninety days?

Because cGP works gradually rather than quickly. The brand's own directions ask for a minimum of ninety days at one capsule a day, and they sell three bottle packs for exactly that reason.

If you are trying it, plan for the full run rather than a single bottle.

Which cGPMAX product should I choose?

Pure is the foundation formula and the simplest: cGP-PRo and nothing else. Brain Health adds 300mg of Bacopa monnieri for memory and concentration. Cardiovascular Health adds grape seed extract and mango fruit powder for circulation.

cGP Support is the practitioner version, in a 60 capsule bottle with the amount set by your practitioner. Our pharmacist can talk you through which fits.

Where does the cGP come from?

From New Zealand grown blackcurrants. cGP-PRo blends blackcurrant fruit powder with hydrolysed collagen and is standardised so each capsule delivers a consistent amount of cGP rather than whatever the fruit happened to contain.

Are cGPMAX capsules suitable for vegetarians?

No. The capsule shell contains gelatin, and the formulas contain hydrolysed collagen.

The retail range may also contain traces of fish or molluscs, so it is not suitable if you react to seafood. Full ingredient lists are on each product page.

What is the difference between cGPMAX and cGPMAX Plus?

cGPMAX is the retail range, sold in 30 capsule bottles at one capsule a day. cGPMAX Plus is the practitioner range, in 60 capsule bottles with a larger cGP-PRo blend and the amount set by your practitioner.

The Plus products are practitioner only and available following a consultation with our pharmacist.

Is cGPMAX made in New Zealand?

Yes. The research behind it was done here, the blackcurrants are New Zealand grown, and the product is manufactured in New Zealand.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders placed before our daily cut off are dispatched within 24 hours from Matakana. Most North Island addresses arrive next business day and South Island addresses within two to three business days.

Rural delivery can add a day.

How long does order processing take?

Once you have placed your order, our team aims to process it as quickly as possible.

Orders are processed as efficiently as possible but can take up to 2-5 working days in certain circumstances* (excluding weekends and public holidays).

Please note that during busy periods, such as promotional or sale events, processing times may be slightly longer due to increased order volumes.

If we are waiting for additional information or a response from you regarding your order, this time will not be included in the processing timeframe.

What is your shipping policy?

For New Zealand: We offer free tracked shipping on all non-rural orders over 75NZD*. *Rural delivery surcharge of 5NZD may apply. 
 
For Australia: We offer free tracked DHL EXPRESS shipping over 200AUD.
 
For remaining countries we are working to achieve better rates but for the moment shipping is DHL, EPS or FEDEX Services shipping for $120NZD.

Shipping to USA is not available at this time.

Click and Collect is also available to those local shoppers. Please allow some time to prepare your order. You will receive a pick up notification email once your order is ready for collection.

Customs, Duties & Fees
Please note that we are not liable for any customs delays, procedures, tariffs, or additional fees that may be imposed by the destination country’s authorities. Any charges, such as duties or import taxes, are the responsibility of the recipient and may be due at the time of delivery. We recommend contacting your local customs office if you have any questions regarding applicable duties and taxes.

Courier Delays & Delivery Times
While we endeavor to ship orders promptly using reliable courier services, delivery times can vary, and delays can occasionally occur beyond our control. We cannot be held responsible for unforeseen courier delays, including those caused by weather, logistical issues, or public holidays. If your order is taking longer than expected, we recommend tracking it using the details provided or contacting the courier directly for further assistance.

We will notify you if a delay is anticipated. Any order cancellations within the allotted shipping time frame (4 business days from order placement) will incur a 10% administration fee. If you wish to find out how far away an order is please email us on admin@matakanapharmacy.com with the order number in the subject line and customer services will reply within 1 business day.

Holiday Deliveries
Deliveries over the Christmas and New Year period is usually subject to delays due to our logistical partners being closed on weekends and public holidays which in turn creates a backlog. They also often have delivery drivers on leave and function at 50-70% driver capacity. Please anticipate delays of up to 5 additional working days during this busy holiday season

Warehouse Hours: Warehouse will be closed from 25/12/25 (Christmas Day) until 4/1/26 please expect delayed delivery and dispatch during the holiday season.

7 Day Rule

You may return any unopened item that is still in its original packaging to Matakana Pharmacy online store within SEVEN days of receiving of your order (as recorded by the courier) for an exchange for another product or, under special circumstances, a refund (see below).

Please note that a restocking fee of 10% of the order price will be deducted from any refund issued under this policy, except where the return is made under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), in which case no restocking fee will apply. Exclusions apply to medications, functional tests and supplements, as we cannot guarantee how these items have been stored once they have left our care. We can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from Matakana Pharmacy. If the returned item/s are not damaged or in an unacceptable state as a reason for return then this will not be accepted for exchange/credit even if this is of no fault of your own (courier mistake/damage).

Please be aware that return courier charges are the responsibility of the consumer, except where the return is required under the CGA. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper; however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

 

Consumers Guarantee/Refund

We will meet all our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Items that are returned more than SEVEN days after delivery and/or are unable to be resold as new cannot be exchanged or refunded. We cannot accept items for exchange that are returned after SEVEN days. Please note that we are not obligated to refund items unless they are defective or damaged. 
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

 

Refund of Shipping Costs

Please note we will only refund shipping costs if the return is a result of our error and not by third party (for example damaged by a courier/shipping). A full refund will be given in this instance. If you are returning because item is no longer required, or ordered in error you may be asked to pay the re-shipping fee for exchanges alongside any other additional costs.

Clearance/sale Items

Please note that we are unable to accept back clearance stock or items purchased on sale for exchange or refund because you have ordered the wrong item, or changed your mind, so please choose carefully. We will however refund/replace your clearance item if it is faulty or damaged in transit from leaving our premises.
