DESCRIPTION

Australian soldiers carried tea tree in their kits before penicillin was widely available, and the oil has been a household staple in this part of the world ever since.

Melaleuca alternifolia, steam distilled from the leaves. Sharp, medicinal, green and completely distinctive. It is one of only four oils Dolphin Clinic list as usable undiluted on skin, and even then in small amounts and not continually.

It works in the Decongestant blend and in the Shower Steamers.

Six drops in a diffuser, or five per 10ml of carrier oil.

Available in 10ml, 30ml and 50ml. If you are going to keep one antiseptic-smelling oil in the bathroom cupboard, most New Zealanders keep this one.

Instructions

Vaporiser or diffuser: 4-8 drops.
Massage or body oil: 5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba.
Bath: 4-6 drops stirred through a little carrier oil or milk once the water has run.
Inhalation: straight from the bottle, or a few drops on a tissue.
Dolphin Clinic recommend topical use on five days a week rather than every day.
