Australian soldiers carried tea tree in their kits before penicillin was widely available, and the oil has been a household staple in this part of the world ever since.
Melaleuca alternifolia, steam distilled from the leaves. Sharp, medicinal, green and completely distinctive. It is one of only four oils Dolphin Clinic list as usable undiluted on skin, and even then in small amounts and not continually.
