Honeysticks

Honeysticks

Why Honeysticks

Pure beeswax, no paraffin

Most crayons are paraffin wax, a by-product of petroleum. Honeysticks are 100% pure beeswax coloured with food-grade pigments, which is why they smell faintly of honey rather than of chemicals, and why a chewed one is not a problem.

Shapes that match the hand

The range steps up as a child does. Short, fat Originals and no-roll Triangles for a first fist grip, Super Jumbos to build strength, Jumbos for controlled colouring and the first attempts at letters.

Made by parents, in Aotearoa

Honeysticks started in a New Zealand preschool when the founder noticed toddlers chewing their crayons and read the ingredients. The beeswax crayons are still handmade here, and the beeswax itself is a by-product of honey production.
