Matakana Tallow

Matakana Tallow Co is made just down the road from us, in a small cabin behind the Matakana Village Butchery. Founder Haylee started rendering tallow in her home kitchen for family and friends, wanting skincare that was simple and natural, free from artificial fragrances and unknown ingredients. Today she and three childhood friends handcraft whipped face and body creams and soap bars in small batches, using 100% grass-fed beef tallow from a single Matakana farm, rendered six times for purity and blended with coconut oil, vitamin E and pure essential oils. Nothing else. Every batch is traceable right back to the farm, and it never leaves the region until it reaches your bathroom shelf.
