Real World is a New Zealand brand founded in Hawke’s Bay by Nicola and Adam Mossman. What began with a single dishwashing liquid in 2016 has grown into a beautiful range of over 50 natural products for the home and body.

Driven by a desire for safer, plant-based alternatives, Real World crafts all formulations with organic ingredients wherever possible and in small batches by hand. Their range is designed not only to be kind on skin and the environment, but also to look stylish in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry.

Sustainability is at the heart of Real World — with glass packaging, a full refill service at their Hastings store, and a commitment to reusing and repurposing materials. From body washes and hand care to laundry liquids and lip balms, Real World represents a thoughtful blend of natural New Zealand ingredients, refined design, and environmental responsibility.

What inspired Real World?

Real World was born when founder Nicola Mossman noticed a lack of natural, plant-based products in New Zealand. Concerned about harsh and brightly coloured products being used on her own newborn, she set out to create safe, effective formulations for everyday living.

Where are Real World products made?

Every product is made in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, in small batches by hand. Visitors can even see the process at the Real World Refinery — a combined retail and refill store housed in a converted newspaper print plant in Hastings.
