Dry, woody and quietly warm, cedarwood is the oil that makes other oils behave. It is a base note, which means it slows a blend down and gives the lighter florals and citruses something to hold on to.
Dolphin Clinic steam distil theirs from Cedrus atlantica wood grown in Morocco. On its own it reads as a clean, masculine sort of scent, closer to a well kept wardrobe than a forest, and it is one of the most used oils in the Dolphin Clinic blending room for exactly that reason.
Dilute it before it goes on skin, and leave it out during pregnancy.
