Roman chamomile is the expensive one, and the price tells you something honest about how it is made. It takes an enormous quantity of flowers to produce a very small quantity of oil, which is why a 10ml bottle costs what it does.
Anthemis nobilis, steam distilled in Italy, smells nothing like chamomile tea. It is warm, sweet, faintly apple-like and deeply soft, and it is one of the gentlest oils in the range.
It is also among the few Dolphin Clinic list as usable undiluted on skin, with care. Most people still prefer it at five drops per 10ml of carrier.
