Cypress smells like a walk somewhere cold and green. Clean, resinous, slightly smoky, with none of the sweetness of pine.
Cupressus sempervirens, steam distilled from the tree needles in France, gives a middle note that holds its shape in a blend rather than disappearing under the citruses. It is one of the oils in Bronchial Benefit, and on its own it is a good winter room scent when you want something drier than eucalyptus.
Avoid it during pregnancy.
Dolphin Clinic have always bought their cypress from France, and it is bottled at their New Zealand premises alongside everything else in the range.
