FATIMAS has been serving bold, fresh flavour to Aucklanders since 1995—now, with more than 100 recipes, you can bring a little of that magic into your own kitchen. This book is packed with the dishes and techniques that have kept our kitchen humming for 30 years. From slow cuts to zesty salads, from punchy sauces to late-night pitas, each recipe is designed to be approachable, satisfying and full of flavour.

These are recipes for any day of the week and for cooks of all skill levels. Each one teaches a technique or flavour combination that reflects Fatima’s way of cooking—layered, herb-forward, spice-rich, and always grounded in the bold, vibrant ingredients of the Middle East, reimagined here in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Whether you’re here for the garlic sauce, curious about harissa, or just want to cook food that tastes as good as it looks, FATIMAS Cookbook brings the colour, spirit, and soul of our kitchen into yours.

Kirsty Senior and Sophie Gilmour are the owner-operators behind FATIMAS a beloved Middle Eastern-inspired eatery with three busy stores in Auckland. Kirsty, a co-founder of FATIMAS, brings decades of experience and a deep passion for delivering high quality, high flavour cuisine. Sophie, a prominent figure in Auckland’s hospitality scene, co-founded the successful eatery Bird on a Wire before joining Fatima’s in 2018.

As FATIMAS approaches its 30th anniversary of operation, Kirsty and Sophie are excited to share more than 100 recipes in their forthcoming cookbook, FATIMAS that comprise cherished in-store recipes, new ideas developed through the lens of their cooking style and clever twists on some Kiwi favourites. This collection aims to educate, inspire and introduce New Zealanders to some of Fatima’s favourite ingredients. The book is a reflection of their dedication to restaurant-quality, flavourful cuisine, prepared with care and love, and their passion for bringing people together through the joy of food.
