Felix uses affron®, a saffron extract drawn from the stigmas of Crocus sativus flowers grown in Spain and standardised to a defined group of bioactives the manufacturer calls Lepticrosalides®, including crocin and safranal. Each capsule carries 30mg providing 3% crocin and 2% safranal.
Standardising a saffron extract is not straightforward, which is why most saffron on the shelf is sold by weight rather than by active content. affron is one of the few with a substantial body of published research behind it.
