Ginger oil is warmer and rounder than the root you cook with, less bite and more depth, with a dry spiciness that sits low in a blend.
Dolphin Clinic steam distil theirs from Zingiber officinale root grown in China. It is a middle note and a warming one, which is why it does the work in Happy Legs and in the Relief massage oil.
On its own it is good in a winter diffuser with orange or cinnamon. Always dilute it for skin, keep it off broken skin, and go carefully if your skin is sensitive.
Thirty years of blending has given Dolphin Clinic a fairly firm view of which ginger to buy. This is it, bottled in New Zealand.
