Sarah Featon's pohutukawa on a greeting card, from the watercolour held by Te Papa.

Featon painted New Zealand's flowering plants in the 1880s, and forty of them became The Art Album of New Zealand Flora in 1889, the first full-colour art book published here. Te Papa holds 134 of her watercolours.

A pohutukawa in full flower makes this one a Christmas card that does not look like a Christmas card.
