About Matakana Botanicals

Matakana Botanicals began in 1988 as Les Floralies, started by Colyn Devereux. Her son Danvers took it on, bought a neglected farm in Matakana in 2014, turned it into the company's eco home and relaunched it under the name it carries now.

What holds the ranges together is where the ingredients come from. Extra virgin olive oil and macadamia oil out of the Matakana region. Manuka honey and manuka oil wild harvested on Great Barrier Island, where New Zealand's first commercial beekeeping started in 1880. Lavender grown and cut on the farm.

If you are buying a gift and do not know the person's taste, the sniff box collection and the Sleep trio are the safest picks. If you know they garden, cook or work with their hands, the Gardeners range has been made for exactly that since 1988.
