Solgar® Beetroot Extract 500 mg is a food supplement containing beetroot, a nutrition rich root vegetable.

Solgar®’s supplements range consists of concentrated foods and botanical extracts to provide dietary nutritional value when taken in combination with food. The majority of the products are available in the same forms as they occur in nature.

Beets are a root vegetable and are a rich source of folate. Beets originated from Africa thousands of years ago, spreading to Asia and Europe. Ancient Roman populations were one of the first people to start harvesting beets for their roots as previously it were only the leaves which were consumed.

Solgar Beetroot Extract provides beetroot (Beta vulgaris) concentrated extract in easy-to-take vegetable capsules without the mess of juicing it.

Beetroot is rich source of antioxidants as well as good levels of many nutrients, including, Folic Acid, Vitamin B6, Fibre, Manganese, Potassium, carotenoids, Vitamin C, Iron and pigments called Betalains and Betaine.

Betaine (also known as TMG) has been shown to support heart health and low blood concentration of homocysteine, a substance linked to heart concerns.

Betalains are nitrogen-containing, water-soluble, reddish plant pigments which have a range of desirable biological activities and may support management of normal blood pressure.

Solgar® Beetroot Extract 500 mg is to be taken as 1 vegetable capsule, up to 3 times a day, providing all the benefits of this nutrient rich root vegetable.

RECOMMENDED DOSE One (1) to three (30 vegetable capsules daily, preferably at mealtimes or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
