Ylang ylang is an intensely sweet, creamy, banana-and-jasmine sort of floral, and it is one of the few oils that people can identify without being told.
Cananga odorata, steam distilled from the flowers. It is a base note and a rich one, which is why Dolphin Clinic use it in Allure, Serenity, Romance Ready, Nicely Spicy, Worry Ease and the Lavender and Ylang Ylang massage oil.
Two drops is usually the right amount. Dolphin Clinic note that heavy use can bring on a headache, which is honest and worth knowing.
