Mynd

Mynd grows and extracts its own Lion's Mane at a farm in Raglan, on New Zealand's west coast. The species is Hericium novae-zealandiae, known by its Maori name Pekepeke-Kiore, a native relative of the Asian Lion's Mane that almost every other supplement on the shelf is made from.

The extract is full spectrum and heat extracted from 85% fruiting bodies and 15% mycelia, so it carries the erinacines and hericenones the mushroom is known for rather than being mostly grain and starch. Callaghan Innovation and Hill Laboratories test it independently for bioactives and purity.

Every format carries the same 1g serve, whether that is two capsules, a quarter teaspoon of powder, a cup of plunger coffee, two squares of dark chocolate or a can of iced latte.

Frequently Asked Questions About Mynd

What is Pekepeke-Kiore, and how is it different from other Lion's Mane?

Pekepeke-Kiore is the Maori name for Hericium novae-zealandiae, a Lion's Mane species native to New Zealand. Almost every other Lion's Mane supplement uses Hericium erinaceus, the Asian species. Mynd grows and extracts the native one at its own farm in Raglan, so the whole range is New Zealand grown rather than imported.

How much Lion's Mane do I actually get?

Every format is built around the same 1g serve. That is two capsules, a quarter teaspoon (1000mg) of the pure powder, one 15g cup of the Mynd Brew coffee, two of the mushroom chocolates, or one can of the iced latte.

Should I choose capsules, powder, coffee or chocolate?

It comes down to how you would rather take it. Capsules are the simplest and travel best. The powder is 100% extract with no fillers, so it is the most flexible and the best value per serve once you are taking it daily. The coffee, chocolate and canned latte fold the same dose into something you were going to have anyway.

Is the extract just mycelium grown on grain?

No. Mynd's extract is full spectrum and heat extracted from 85% fruiting bodies and 15% mycelia, and it is independently tested for bioactive compounds and purity by Callaghan Innovation and Hill Laboratories. Many mushroom supplements are grain-grown mycelium, where much of the weight in the capsule is the substrate rather than the mushroom.

Does the coffee and chocolate contain caffeine?

The Mynd Brew coffee and the Iced Mushroom Latte are real coffee, so yes, both contain caffeine. The capsules, powder and chocolate do not. The chocolate is dark chocolate, which carries the small amount of caffeine naturally present in cacao.

How long does a pack last?

At the recommended serve, 60 capsules is about a month and 120 is about two. The 60g powder is around 60 serves, or two months. A 250g bag of coffee makes about 16 cups and the 500g about 32. The 224g chocolate holds 56 chocolates, which is 28 servings.

How long does order processing take?

Once you have placed your order, our team aims to process it as quickly as possible.

Orders are processed as efficiently as possible but can take up to 2-5 working days in certain circumstances* (excluding weekends and public holidays).

Please note that during busy periods, such as promotional or sale events, processing times may be slightly longer due to increased order volumes.

If we are waiting for additional information or a response from you regarding your order, this time will not be included in the processing timeframe.

What is your shipping policy?

For New Zealand: We offer free tracked shipping on all non-rural orders over 75NZD*. *Rural delivery surcharge of 5NZD may apply. 
 
For Australia: We offer free tracked DHL EXPRESS shipping over 200AUD.
 
For remaining countries we are working to achieve better rates but for the moment shipping is DHL, EPS or FEDEX Services shipping for $120NZD.

Shipping to USA is not available at this time.

Click and Collect is also available to those local shoppers. Please allow some time to prepare your order. You will receive a pick up notification email once your order is ready for collection.

Customs, Duties & Fees
Please note that we are not liable for any customs delays, procedures, tariffs, or additional fees that may be imposed by the destination country’s authorities. Any charges, such as duties or import taxes, are the responsibility of the recipient and may be due at the time of delivery. We recommend contacting your local customs office if you have any questions regarding applicable duties and taxes.

Courier Delays & Delivery Times
While we endeavor to ship orders promptly using reliable courier services, delivery times can vary, and delays can occasionally occur beyond our control. We cannot be held responsible for unforeseen courier delays, including those caused by weather, logistical issues, or public holidays. If your order is taking longer than expected, we recommend tracking it using the details provided or contacting the courier directly for further assistance.

We will notify you if a delay is anticipated. Any order cancellations within the allotted shipping time frame (4 business days from order placement) will incur a 10% administration fee. If you wish to find out how far away an order is please email us on admin@matakanapharmacy.com with the order number in the subject line and customer services will reply within 1 business day.

Holiday Deliveries
Deliveries over the Christmas and New Year period is usually subject to delays due to our logistical partners being closed on weekends and public holidays which in turn creates a backlog. They also often have delivery drivers on leave and function at 50-70% driver capacity. Please anticipate delays of up to 5 additional working days during this busy holiday season

Warehouse Hours: Warehouse will be closed from 25/12/25 (Christmas Day) until 4/1/26 please expect delayed delivery and dispatch during the holiday season.

7 Day Rule

You may return any unopened item that is still in its original packaging to Matakana Pharmacy online store within SEVEN days of receiving of your order (as recorded by the courier) for an exchange for another product or, under special circumstances, a refund (see below).

Please note that a restocking fee of 10% of the order price will be deducted from any refund issued under this policy, except where the return is made under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA), in which case no restocking fee will apply. Exclusions apply to medications, functional tests and supplements, as we cannot guarantee how these items have been stored once they have left our care. We can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from Matakana Pharmacy. If the returned item/s are not damaged or in an unacceptable state as a reason for return then this will not be accepted for exchange/credit even if this is of no fault of your own (courier mistake/damage).

Please be aware that return courier charges are the responsibility of the consumer, except where the return is required under the CGA. You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper; however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

 

Consumers Guarantee/Refund

We will meet all our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Items that are returned more than SEVEN days after delivery and/or are unable to be resold as new cannot be exchanged or refunded. We cannot accept items for exchange that are returned after SEVEN days. Please note that we are not obligated to refund items unless they are defective or damaged. 
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. Refund of Shipping Costs

Please note we will only refund shipping costs if the return is a result of our error and not by third party (for example damaged by a courier/shipping). A full refund will be given in this instance. Clearance/sale Items

Please note that we are unable to accept back clearance stock or items purchased on sale for exchange or refund because you have ordered the wrong item, or changed your mind, so please choose carefully. We will however refund/replace your clearance item if it is faulty or damaged in transit from leaving our premises.
