DESCRIPTION
Shatavari is a wild asparagus, Asparagus racemosus, native to India and the Himalayas, and one of the herbs most associated with women in Ayurveda. The Sanskrit name translates, memorably, as she who possesses a hundred husbands.
This is the pure root, milled to a powder. One ingredient, 250g.
The traditional preparation is worth the trouble: warm it gently into milk with a few dates and almonds. A spoonful into a smoothie works too.
Not one to start while pregnant or breastfeeding without talking to your midwife or doctor first.
